As I ponder back

To being a girl,

I vividly see a Native

Yet non commercialized,

Weeping as he perceives

God’s gorgeous earth;

Beautiful land and sky

My sight conceived;

So I questioned

Why weep Native?

As I’ve ripened

I too have begun

To weep;

Incredible earth around me

I can now see

From the Native’s eye

Natural is almost a memory,

Fresh air now rare,

Waters so infested,

Vegetation unhealthy ,

Disease so prevalent;

So I ponder myself

And I ask

Why do I weep?

It’s the destruction of His beautiful land

Greed that is out of hand

Our bodies

Created in His image

Are now sacrificed

Inevitably we must pay the price

Is why I weep

Peace and Many Blessings,
